My apologies to those who were hoping for an interesting entry, haha.  I really just needed to bump a journal off the front page that's about 4 years old.  Tired of looking at it, and it had to go!

Here's a random plug for World of Darkness: It's awesome!

Hey girly! I don't suppose you'd draw Eriobea for me would you? She is Grey Blue and wears the librarian type robes now, a brown and blue scheme. That is if you have time :)

Hi there. I noticed the Revan mask you made for :iconcloakedandmasked:. I was wondering if you would mind sharing how you made it. My friends and I have a KOTOR cosplay planned and we are trying to figure out the best way to make a Darth Revan mask to complete my friend's costume.

Sure, no problem at all. The mask as well as the armor is all made out of fun foam. The mask I made by cutting patterns out of posterboard and taping it all together to make sure it was relatively right and the cutting the pieces out of fun foam, layered to make the different thicknesses. Most of it is the regular thickness of fun foam and the t-visor part is the double thickness. The whole thing is hot glued together and the tinted visor is one of those roll-up disposable sunglasses things they give you at the eye-doctor. It's painted with just simple acrylic paints in black, a brick red and i think like copper and bronze color mixed together. Just be careful about bending the mask a lot because the paint will crack if you flex it too much. That was more a problem on the armor than the mask, it hasn't developed any cracks in the paint at all. I think it's held on with an elastic string. The only real tough part is making the curve along the forehead. You have to cut a lot of slits so it looks kind of like petals or something and just keep cutting, gluing and shaping until it's nice and smooth.

Some tips for making the patterns: I found a pretty good quality screenshot of Revan from the games and printed it out to size i needed (with a little trial and error) then cut out all the various pieces to make the patterns.

Total cost of the mask was maybe 5 or 6 dollars, so you just about can't beat the cost. I think I made the whole costume for under $50, excluding his shoes, haha. The chest plate I will say did not hold up all the great. We got about 2 good uses out of it but after the second time it needed significant repairs. We were kind of rough with it though, otherwise I imagine it would have held up pretty well. I wish I still had the patterns I'd made for it.

I hope this was helpful in some way and if you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Good luck!

Okay wow thank you so much. This was actually really helpful and the process seems a lot easier than I originally thought and super cheap, which makes me happy. XD

Seriously thanks a ton!
